A busy Friday

Last Friday was the wedding of mi niece, I had requested that day off since time ago to leisurely prepare everything but the awaited day finally came and I didn´t have dress for that special night.
So in the morning I got up at 7.00 and I took my son to High School , after breakfast I did some errands until 11.00 and went home.

.Since 11.30 I was cutting a dress for ceremony, I choose a model that I wanted of Burda long time ago.
I finished it at 17.00. I choosed for the skirt of the dress ottoman and the upper body is a wonderful silk crash effect.

Some details for outfit

The wedding was to 19.30, so after finished the dress only had time for a shower and some makeup to look like this...

After the ceremony I shared with the family and the guests a wedding dinner. We ate, danced and laughed long into the night.
At 24.30 the audience began to leave, but my husband and I decide we wanted to continue the party a little more, so we went to have drinks ank dancing at a popular nightclub in the capital.
At 3.30 the body could not take over and we retired to rest thinking of getting up the next day to go to the beach.
For a long time since I spent a weekend as fun and complete as this, so I´m thinking about the next....

A embroidery cushion for a wedding

My niece es getting married soon and I thought a good idea to give her a cushion to carry partnerships embroidered with your name and your future husband.
So I spent some time on Sunday afternoon to embroider with a good cup of coffee, it was gradually taking shape.

The base fabric I used is a satin, a remnant of a wedding dress that I made about four years ago. Above it, a piece of organza which is also a remnant of a communion dress that I made three springs ago, the frill is made of organza with the same stash.

The decorations of flowers are also accessories that I did long time ago, so that every part of this cushion has a story. The bow of flowers is blue because here, in Spain, is a tradition that the bride has to wear something new, something used and something blue to give luck. Here a few photos of the cushion finished.

I hope that my niece received this gift with all the affection that I have to do it.
Meanwhile, I´m already thinking about the dress I´m going to do to attend the wedding...
Next post.

Skirt with trick.

This last weekend was long in Spain, for the Thursday and Friday was holidays and joined the Saturday and Sunday, so I wanted a light skirt and youthful, and took the opportunity to make one.
I drew a skirt with outer pockets, open front with buttons, but with a little trick...

I was so excited with four days of to sew I did not remember taking photos of the work process, I used a fabric with a bit of elastan of my private stash, so is quite comfortable.

I really like the clothes with buttons in front, but I hate when open the space between them and when yoy sit, the space between buttons seem to "bumps"... so the solutin was to add an invisible side zipper and sew the buttons line since up to down, so does not open anything.

I think I´ll use a lot this skirt in this spring.!
