Entangled with the snood

Photobucket

As I said in previous post, hubby and I are this week´s holiday and there´s much beach time... so as he enjoy the sun, I´m unable to be with my hands still, obviously I started a snood in red for the summer, I already made a snood  for some time ago, but I think that model will have better acceptance in winter, while this snood in this color can be used much better in summer...

I did not use any pattern to get this snood, I just started with some chain stitches and I was following my intuition to add up to get what I wanted ...
Photobucket
While I crochet on the beach, my mind wandered looking for any clothing or garments for use with this snood, so I thought it look good with this  dress I sewed a few months ago, I think it has a look very  40s and the snood provides the perfect complement ...

Honestly, this snood is fantastic in many ways, it's very comfortable, I added in the top center of a small comb to keep it still and it worked fine, although I would add two small clips on the side hidden among my hair .
Photobucket
Also, it's perfect for when the hair is not "presentable" and you want to look well groomed, including the proven fact of  resisting  to a  windy day and finish the evening with hair as perfect as when you left home ...
Photobucket
The observed fact arrive at home and find this sweet treasure in the kitchen ... My sons went to a mall on the island and found that there was a new place where they sell donuts of all colors and flavors ... so they came home with two boxes of these dangers to the waist ....

         Have a sweet weekend ....

  4. LOVELY snood!! I have a few (made by others) and I absolutely love them! They are perfect for keeping the hair in place (and for drying curls if I have to go out). I really like your snood because it's less bulky than others I have seen! I also really like where it sits on your head! Very 40's! Love it!

  7. It's beautiful and goes so well with your dress. I live in snoods. I'm a momma and they're great when little babies try to grab my hair and pull. My sister doesn't wear vintage but I have her hooked on wearing them now too! :)

  8. That is a very pretty accessory! and I can see it looking very cool with jeans and a white Tshirt too, very Katharine Hepburn! Perhaps you should write down the pattern? :)

  12. Great snood Rosy. I think snoods are great for the beach (until I actually swim). I am a total failure at crochet but I would like to try to knit one (since I am better with two needles than one).

  16. I haven't seen a snood in years, but it is an attractive hair , accessory both from a fashion point of view and keeping hair under control. It goes perfectly with your dress, so pretty. I stay away from donuts if at all possible, because I have no will power against them.
