It´s time to sew another costume of a classic movie ... "Christmas in Connecticut" 1945"

So ... it is time ... I miss the series I had started back sewing suits or dresses of wonderful classic movies, so I'll show you the film chosen for this August..Photobucket
It's a complete irony that the chosen film in August, is just a Christmas movie, but I could not resist the wonderful costumes that appear here as well, I highly recommend this movie if you have opportunity, entertainment is assured and lots of laughs ... I will not reveal the story if you did not see it, I can only tell that it is the tangles that form when a writer of a famous women's magazine (which is the ideal of the perfect American housewife) is a complete fraud .
Photobucket
Beautiful close-up of the famous women's magazine where the protagonist writes about cooking and home care.

Our protagonist is wearing a suit typical of the 40s, a white blouse with puffed sleeves, you should look closely at the bodice with gathers under the bust darts to tailor the body. Cute! The pants, high waisted, with slanting pockets and wide legs.  I imagine these pants navy blue ....
PhotobucketPhotobucket
A suit consisting of skirt and jacket with long sleeves, look at the picture of the jacket, as a string ... Oh, my God, I could die for that hat ...
Photobucket
Suit in the back, the drawing goes all the yoke of the jacket .... I'm obsessed with this hat ...
I imagine this blue wool suit with a drawing of the chain in ocher color ... sigh ... the drawing of the chain could be a fixture embroidery ...
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Another sophisticated skirt and jacket suit, observing that there are loops around the edge of the jacket and sleeves ... and the head band ... Ohhh!
Photobucket
Look closely at the shiny beads embroidered on the body of the jacket ... The initials of the player .. Elizabeth Lane...  Isn´t it a delicious detail???
Photobucket
A beautiful long black dress with a small jacket with white leather details ...
PhotobucketPhotobucket
   Soooo sweet gingham dress!
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Elegant suit comprising jacket and skirt, watch the lady next to the protagonist, she is wearing a beautiful dress that drew much attention to me ... I find it fascinating!
Photobucket
The last suit that appears in the film ... I am also fascinated with that blouse ruffled ... it stole my heart ...
Oh, I forgot ... Of course, all these wonderful clothes were made by the wonderful  Edith Head!
Although I wish I had time to sew all the suits that appear in the film, I'm going to decide for one .... for now ... Long ago I want a style of pants as the 40s, so I'm going to sew this week the first suit shown here ....
What do you like suit?? All?? Is not this your style?

  3. I love 1940s suits and I wish to have one! I really like that in those times suits (and clothes in general) were made from fabrics of high quality - 100% wool etc. It was better then clothes which you can buy now.
And I like the fitted style of 1940s suits!

But from the pictures you've posted I liked the most the long black dress with the small white jacket. It's so elegant!
