Wild West Skirt .... not so wild ....

Photobucket
I do not know which is the reason .. but every time I think of the Wild West, my mind doesn´t  seek horses, rodeos or gunmen .... my mind fills the space with Dolly Parton, I can not remedy this ... so when Sew Weekly offered the challenge this week,"Western", then I started to sew a skirt female with all the ingredients of Country Style.
Photobucket
Actually, the skirt was very, very comfortable to use, and I was very happy to do a little tribute to my beloved Dolly Parton, considering she and I have the same contour measures .....

Hey, girl ... not to laugh .... it's true! The contour  of Dolly's chest  is equal to my contour  waist!

Although I was looking for accessories to complete this outfit, I did not find much, but I can show my bracelets very proud, very appropriate ....
   Photobucket
In the best position, this outfit should be a substitute for "Wild West style" ... You can see that my boots are not cowboy boots ... Sorry,  boots aren´t  very prized on an island with high temperatures.
And the guitar isn´t  an acoustic guitar ... it's a Spanish classical guitar ... but this instrument was given to me by my father when I was fourteen, it's a touching memory of him ...
Photobucket
And a little story to tell ....
When I was fourteen, my father gift me this guitar  and sent me to guitar lessons that Ilearn to use it ...
There was only one small problem ... I am left handed! So the professor decided to change the order of the strings of the guitar and so I learned to play it.
Several months later, the teacher decided I was good enough on guitar to access the choir music that he led ...
So when I went with the choir instrumental to some performance ... I was the "marginalized ".... While the masts of all other stringed instruments were left, I sat at one end of the chorus to the mast of my guitar was on the right ... always had jokes, laughs and fun with this subject ... those years were very sweet and dear and I remember it fondly ...
Have a great weekend and do not forget to enjoy the small moments of life!

  7. You did a wonderful job accessorizing the WW outfit. I love your guitar story. The skirt looks wonderful on you. The little flounce in the back is just too cool.
I have an old guitar given to me by my grandparents when I was about 13. I wanted it because of the Beatles, but I never learned to play it. I still have it and treasure it as a memory of them.

  9. I love your version of a western skirt. The pockets, both front and back are very authentic and then the surprise and fun of the flippy skirt back. Your comparison of Dolly's measurements to yours gave me a good laugh. I am glad to hear the test results was benign. Such a relief!

  10. Great outfit, and thanks for making me laugh about Dolly Parton! Is that skirt modelled on BurdaStyle 12-2009-122? It looks great on you and those pockets are fabumous
